I arrived around 8:45 am after a stressful morning checking my pet in for surgery nearby and Tim was able to accommodate me right away with a room and even invited me to enjoy breakfast since it wasn't over yet. The breakfast was more than I expected. They had eggs, bacon and/or sausage and hash on the hot bar in addition to the traditional "continental breakfast" items. The room was clean and neat. The location was very convenient for exploring Sarasota and I plan on coming back for another visit under more enjoyable circumstances. I thought the value was outstanding.
Tim helped us check in, we had such a great time, we extended our stay, and Tim was so helpful once again! All other staff were also very helpful! Bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel, and the king suite with balcony is a very spacious room, with a couch large enough for 3 people and extra seating for 2-3 friends to visit. Highly recommend!
Hotel location and feel is very good. Can't really complain however the way its run needs some thought. I paid for breakfast but when we went down it was only continental breakfast. Anything hot required a token that cost $10. I complained to the front staff showing i paid for breakfast but all I got for the 3 of us was 1 token?? Why not increase the cost and include it for all. Secondly they have a quite policy which is fine. However for the front of desk to ring us and wake us up to inform us they heard a noise is so unprofessional. Just come up to the floor and find those that were making the noise! ( which were the family next to us)
Booked a stay, hit the wrong button and booked the wrong date. Immediately attempted to correct/fix the date or get a refund and was COMPLETELY REFUSED. I ended up paying for a room that I never used. We had no choice but to re-book for last weekend 10/14-10/15). Did not get the same type of room and what we did receive was at a much higher price. There was NO PARKING available at the hotel Saturday night on site after our event. No lie, there really was NOT ONE PARKING SPOT!!!!!! Couple of trucks and trailers were parked over multiple spaces. There was even someone parked with a truck and a trailer overnight at the motel's front door towing a race car (it was there all night and in the morning when we checked out). Sunday morning tried at two separate intervals to get breakfast and could not get near the food as there was just too many people and "teams" milling about. We just gave up trying, checked out and left to go elsewhere. It just wasn't worth it. If you have a travel team, this is definitely the place for you. I highly recommend it for any youth league as there is a distant outside pool area for down times and in between games for your teams. If you are a couple traveling (especially with serious medical issues), you might want to consider another facility as Ameniti at Magnoila Pointe will not be the most accommodating place for you.
The only good thing about this hotel is that the rooms are decent and pretty clean. They have 2 elevators. One of them had not been working for days. This resulted in long waits for the elevator. Only a limited continental breakfast is available for free. The hot items must be purchased with a token available at the front desk for $10. This was not told to us at check-in. You have to stand in line to get your hot items, and it was very slow. I gave up and went next door to Bob Evans and got a better breakfast for about $8. The pool is shared with the other hotel they run next door. Not much shade and not very attractive. The front desk staff was not very professional either. The room we had the first night was so noisy it was unbelievable. I am not sure if it was housekeeping or other guests. We asked if we could move to another room the next morning. This turned into a delay of hours to move. My wife had to go check to see when the other room was ready. They didn't. The new room was more quiet, but the A/C did not work right, it was noisy, and ran constantly. So, now our new room is hot and noisy ! I guess you get what you pay for. We will not return to this hotel again.
