Anytime favorite for relaxing dinner with a decent selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and real Greek coffee with variety of deserts. Coming to this restaurant since its opening 10 years ago and never had a bad dish. The menu does not change much so over the years I've tried every single item they offer; if you are a fan of Mediterranean cuisine, you will find your favorites. They also have a special course menu that changes frequently, includes choice of main dish with choice of appetizers and choice of desert usually under $30. It is always good to make a reservation even at the last minute to avoid waiting because this restaurant gets quite crowded at dinner time any day of the week.
What an amazing lunch! We enjoyed everything, from our Florida citrus crush and blackberry ginger iced tea drinks to the delicious complimentary pita with tapenade and herbed compound butter, refreshing zucchini croquettes, tasty steak frites and kofta sandwich. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Can’t wait to stop by again.
I have been here twice. Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, food is delicious! It's also close to shopping and easy on and off highway.
We stopped into one of our long time favorite local Greek restaurants, Apollonia, at Cooper Creek today and I was compelled to leave this review because they are just doing such an all-around outstanding job. Service is prompt and courteous. The restaurant is clean but rustic with an unfinished floor making it feel all the more European. The food is authentic and fresh. Never have I ever had a delicious wheat roll up but the added touch of grilling it to crispy perfection on the chicken wrap with just the right mix of salty feta, sweet red beets and tangy homemade Greek dressing made it just that. Started off with house made bread with just a dab of herbed butter and olive tapenade so as not to overindulge. Their moist and meaty gyro Greek salad bursting with large cuts of fresh crunchy veggies was enormous and definitely enough for 2. My 10 year old son, who is somewhat of an adventuresome eater, enjoyed sharing a bowl of piping hot, perfectly lemony and chockfull of chicken, traditional Greek avgolemono soup and followed it up with his own side of creamy flavorful tzatziki and warm pita bread. We also treated ourself to a citrus summertime mock tail. All this for an amazingly reasonable price given that everything was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend you stop in and see Haci evenings at the bar or maybe, if you’re lucky like us, for a delightful lunch. He kept a watchful eye on us without hovering and appeared with take home containers before we even had a chance to ask. He was the epitome of customer service. Guatemala’s loss is certainly our gain here in Sarasota. Be sure to give Apollonia Grill a try. You won’t be disappointed. 😋
My experience here is repeatedly 5-stars. The Meze Platter is by far our most ordered appetizer and makes for a great meal-for-2 when paired with drinks. Atmosphere is pleasant, not too loud. Table settings are clean. Portions are good. Thanks again.
