I’ve thought hard about this review and I am going to go ahead and share. The teachers themselves is what makes this place amazing. My child has been going here for 2 years now and I’m very disappointed in the owner Sherri and her defensive attitude towards any form of concern or feedback regarding the program in their location. At the batizado cord ceremony last time the owner roni dropped a comment that didn’t sit quite right saying “if it wasn’t for you parents I would actually have to work for a living so thank you” It didn’t sit quite right with me and after talking to other parents yeah you don’t have to state the obvious. I get it you are the owner I get you pay yourself probably a good amount to live comfortably. Who wouldn’t right? However i left the ceremony and wasn’t thinking about it much more I’ve loved the academy and their teachers for the past 2 years never interacted much with any of the owners. Now recently I did encounter Sherri and I do have to say that there is poor attitude and arrogance that comes across when talking to the individual. People put their hard earned money into the program as a consumer and customer I expect from this business as I do from any other business a bit of compassion, customer service and hospitality. You work with the public and their children. You can’t come down from your high horse and meet people where they are at? Conversations are abruptly ended and feedback or concerns not taken seriously. I highly consider spending my hard earned money elsewhere in the future for after school as well as future camps. Sad, because the teachers is what keeps this alive. And I do feel this review will not change anything I just mentioned it will be a wash rinse repeat in this scenario for my child’s spot. Again to sum it up I’m truly upset about how I was being talked to by the owner the last 2 years I’ve been part of “paying their bills” …
My son attended Capokids VPK. I was worried that we would have issues starting VPK, because he dreaded daycare and would cry every morning. To my surprise, he loved it here! All Teachers were great and supportive. My son had lots of fun, never felt out of place and has learned so much.
CapoKids is the best! My kids love it! The staff is absolutely amazing! So much fun!
Let's start by saying that 2 reviews we see here (Nina and CapoVam) are reviews from the owners, so it doesn't count and it should not be here. Owners should not review their businesses. This is a school owned by Brazilians and since I am also a Brazilian, I though would be great having my kids here. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience and left this preschool extremely disappointed. It took me months until I decided to leave this review, but I think it's necessary - as parents we want our kids to be safe. I removed both of my kids (4 and 5) from Capokids Lakewood Ranch after my kids were exposed to information they were not supposed to at this age. The teacher and the director were present at that moment, and they did not ask any parents if it was ok bring this type of conversation to kids that young. As soon I learned this, I removed my kids from school and I heard from one of their teachers that they lost 5 kids in the same day. Positive points of school: Capoeira classes are fun. Negative points: absolutely lack of communication, really small place, long hours of unnecessary naps that my kids never liked, didn't have teachers with years of experience in other schools, and when the after school kids arrive it's overcrowded - there are no separate rooms from preschoolers and after care kids.
Teachers at Capokids are very loving and have a good communication with parents. Kids are incentivized to practice sports and eat healthy. Our daughter absolutely loves going to Capokids.
