I have used Ocean Blue for years . They do a great job. Richard , the service man , is knowledgeable , communicative and professional . I wouldn’t use anyone else.
Ocean Blue is dependable. Professional, and competent. These qualities are descriptive of our pool technician, Charles, who is solely responsible for retaining our business subsequent to the sale of Ocean Blue to its new corporate ownership. We continue to be disappointed with the fact that Ocean Blue will no longer service our Pentaire Gas Pool Heater, which was originally installed by Ocean Blue. Thus NOT the “full service pool company” that we originally contracted with. Reason being…….they no longer hold the required licensure to service gas heated pools! We do want to continue to compliment our pool technician, Charles; pleasant, consistent, extremely competent and dependable.
Wanted cost estimate on adding remote monitoring/control capability to our Pentair pool equipment via equipment additions and phone app, plus confirmation of suspected faulty pool temp sensor and cost estimate to replace it. Ocean Blue store is very conveniently located (3 mi away) and they are a Pentair dealer. Visited office, requested visit to assess our situation and obtain estimate(s) for the add-on equipment installation and temp sensor replacement if confirmed. Surprise #1: $175 charge up front to visit our house, which seems a bit high, close proximity or not. Surprise #2: my scheduled home visit "between 8 AM-Noon" came and went with no one seen, no doorbell ring, so at 12:30 PM I call office, asking what's up. I was told the field technician visited our house, with no arrival announcement given so that I could speak with him while there (for surely less than 5-10 minutes) to ask questions, etc. Like with any service vendor, I thought I'd get the opportunity to speak with the technician while on site, but his stealth visit didn't include this, not even for $175. Surprise #3: there was a mixup in understanding what I wanted done per my instructions on the pre-visit questionnaire I filled out at the office, something that of course would have been instantly clarified had the technician met with me during his visit. The office person said she would have the technician return to our house at the end of the day, which was thoughtful, but after waiting at home over 4 hours earlier we had plans for the rest of the day, so this wasn't an option. A phone call from technician to us was suggested, and we said OK. After explaining what I wanted to the courteous office person, she relayed this conversation to the technician, who then said a return visit was unnecessary, he/they had the info needed to create a quote for us, which is due sometime today.
The cool fall weather prompted me to see about getting the pool heater working at my newly purchased home in fall of 2018. The unit didn't work, so I contracted a local heating/air company to take a look. The pool heater was fully rusted out and in awful shape. So, I opted for a replacement. The heating/air company provided a quote that seemed astronomically high. Therein, I contacted area pool companies. Out of the four I contacted, two never returned my calls and a third wanted to charge $60 just to provide an estimate as they needed to "survey the property." Yeah, no. Thankfully, Ocean Blue didn't mess around. They sent a worker to my property for an on-site inspection at zero charge. Then, they provided a quote. The quote was very fair from what I've seen from online estimates. The heater system they quoted was priced reasonably considering the EBay and Amazon prices I found. Compared to the heating/air company, their price was amazing (I calculated the heating/air company was trying to soak me nearly $1,000 in labor and they told me installing the heater would take 1/2 a day or so). When I contracted Ocean Blue, they required 1/2 down payment for the job. They worked with my schedule, and about a week later installed the heater. On the day of the job, they called to let me know when they'd arrive, were spot on time, and had the heater installed in under 2 hours (what about that 1/2 day of work the heating/air company told?). The workers explained the system, were patient when I had questions, and did a great job with the install. Despite rather cool temperatures for Florida, I was using my pool this afternoon with it being a pleasant 82 degrees! Ocean Blue went above and beyond by noting how one of my sprinkler heads was dousing the heater with water, which will of course cause corrosion. Kudos to them for noting this to me. Atop all of their work, they included an extra year warranty (all inclusive) on the new heater. I'm very impressed with Ocean Blue Pool Supply & Services. I will be using them for all of my pro' pool needs in the future, which will no doubt include a new filter system down the road, and maybe some other upgrades. Thank you again!
Worst company ever , so many times they didn’t not show up at my house pretend like they did and i have security cameras around the house i have all the proofs! I have seen their other reviews they do that to other people too without showing up pretending like they show up !Today again i am at home received email from them that the pool guy came to my houses checked the chemicals add chemicals clean the pool and it’s a Huge Lie !!! No one ever came I called them to ask what’s going on she called me back in 5 min technician on his way to you i said so apparently he didn’t showed up here again and sent me an email like he was here it’s a Scamming coustemer ! She didn’t even apologize or could answer or explain to me what is going on. I told her this is not a first time it’s constantly happening without showing up doing what they supposed to do they make me pay for nothing then asks me why you having us !! She was right i should’ve not given more chance to them , I just Fired them . i got enough ripped of by them ! Stay away save your money and nerves!
